Description:
When Lenny's father goes off to fight in the Second World War, he gives his son a small brass badge engraved with two animals — a lion for bravery and a unicorn for courage. Soon Lenny himself is sent away, evacuated from London to a grand country house to escape the bombing. Lonely, homesick and teased for being different, he finds a secret walled garden with a stone unicorn, and there befriends a quiet, wounded soldier who helps him understand that real courage comes in many forms — including admitting when you're afraid. Tender and beautifully painted, this is a moving, hopeful story about bravery, kindness and finding strength in the hardest of times.
